This vintage two-handled ceramic vase with chariot motif combines a rounded body with a tall neck and an undulating rim. The handles leave large open spaces on either side, lightening the silhouette. On the front, the chariot and horse introduce a scene that invites the eye to travel across the surface.

Why we chose this piece

We chose it for the relationship between volume, open space and drawing. It has enough presence to stand alone on a shelf or at the end of a sideboard, with space on either side to appreciate the handles. We like it alongside wood, linen and stone, in an arrangement where the other pieces are simpler. A plain wall behind allows both the profile and the decoration on the front to stand out.
