Hello! I'm Rosario Linares, founder of Matuta Home. With a background in psychology, I have always been interested in the factors that influence our emotional state, and I firmly believe in the power of spaces to affect our well-being. I am fascinated by how certain places can convey calm, serenity and a deep sense of connection, especially when they remind us of nature or connect us with it.
When selecting each piece, I am guided by four essential principles: authenticity, aesthetic harmony, quality and what the object conveys. I always look for beauty, even in the most functional elements, making sure they bring balance to a space. Natural and sustainable materials are fundamental to me because they connect us with the earth and reinforce our essence. Every piece I select must have a timeless design and personality, and I especially value objects that tell a story or have unique cultural significance.
My love of antiques has deep roots. My great-great-grandfather, Abelardo Linares García, was the first antique dealer in the family, a pioneer in Spain who opened his first shop in Granada and expanded his legacy to several cities. My grandfather, the third Abelardo Linares, continued this tradition, and the homes of my childhood were filled with unique pieces with a history. Living with those objects gave me a love of vintage and authentic pieces that defines Matuta Home today.

How did Matuta Home begin?
It all began with Casa del Berro, where we renovated a home in a historic residential area with the architecture studio Jiménez & Linares. The house was a unique opportunity to bring our vision to life: creating a space where calm and authenticity could be felt in every corner.
Our concept has evolved beyond decoration alone. At Matuta Home, we have expanded our universe to offer a selection of pieces that bring beauty to everyday life, from vintage furniture to designer jewellery, bags, stationery and sustainable lifestyle products. We believe beauty should be present in every aspect of our lives, from decorative objects to the most practical ones.
We are located at Ribera de Curtidores 29, on the left-hand corner of the iconic Galerías Piquer, surrounded by renowned antique dealers. Our aim is to offer our customers a distinctive experience in which every piece has a purpose and a story.
In addition to our shop, we also offer interior design services, creating spaces that inspire calm and harmony and reflect the personality and essence of the people who live in them.
Matuta Home is a tribute to family tradition, innovation and beauty in every aspect of life.
