Description
This handmade cotton and jute wall tapestry transforms walls through texture, relief, and an earthy color palette. The combination of fibers creates changes in texture and direction in the weave, while the fringes and visible seams add movement. It doesn't need a figurative image to have presence: the fabric itself acts as a language and changes slightly depending on the light and distance.
It can be placed above a sideboard, next to a reading area, in a bedroom, or in an entryway where a conventional painting would be too rigid. The natural tones interact with wood, stone, clay, linen, and antique pieces, but retain enough contrast to not disappear in a neutral interior. Lorena Canals' manual craftsmanship results in small variations in tension, color, and finish that are part of each unit's identity.
Why we chose this tapestry
We chose it because it dresses up the wall without stiffening the space. We are interested in the blend of cotton and jute and the way the relief adds depth while maintaining a serene presence. It is a warm alternative to framed art and can coexist with ceramics, photographs, objects, and furniture from different eras without requiring an overly coordinated composition.
