This pair of vintage brass table lamps, of Swedish origin and mid-century style, combines slender supports with wide shades in cream and brown tones. The checked weave introduces a light texture that contrasts with the brushed metal and softens their presence on a piece of furniture.

Why we chose this pair

We like the relationship between the breadth of the shades and the open stance of the bases. The silhouette balances lightness and presence, while the small wooden pulls add a warm detail to the ensemble.

We would place them apart on a sideboard to mark its ends, or on either side of a bed with a simple headboard. Brass works well with dark wood and tobacco tones; the pale shades allow the pair to sit within a composition of linen, matt ceramics and plain surfaces.
