This cream jute rug with an open weave introduces an airy texture and a linear pattern that becomes clearer on closer inspection. Still Aya combines the presence of natural fibre with a restrained composition, without an overlaid print. Hand weaving lets the small openings become part of the design and allows the floor beneath to play a visual role in the surface.

Why we chose this rug

We chose it because it brings structure without looking heavy. In a seating area it can accompany a linen sofa, a rattan table or a wooden armchair. Furniture with simple forms makes the weave easier to read; leaving part of the rug uncovered also reveals the relationship between its lines and open spaces.
