Description
This ethnic-inspired washable rug revives the language of nomadic textiles through geometric patterns, textures, and an earthy color palette. Its artisanal craftsmanship results in slight variations in weave, tone, and outline, which add depth and prevent an industrial look. The design retains traditional references but is interpreted with a simple, contemporary flair.
Depending on its proportions, it can be used in a living room, bedroom, entryway, or children's room. It pairs well with wood, stone, linen, leather, ceramics, and natural fibers, and can connect furniture and objects from different eras. Its washable nature makes it easy for everyday use, allowing the rug to truly be part of the home. As with Lorena Canals' pieces, slight irregularities are a result of the handcrafted work and are part of each unit's identity.
Why we chose this rug
We chose it because it brings history and texture without turning the room into a themed composition. We are interested in how the pattern and material interact with antique pieces and contemporary design. It's a foundation with character, yet versatile enough to complement a home that is built little by little, gathering objects, memories, and materials from different origins.
