Their deliberate weight in hand and sculptural silhouette, with a gem-like carved low foot and faceted details reappearing on the inside of the bowl, turn every toast into a singular moment. About Nienke Sikkema

Nienke Sikkema is a Dutch glass artist trained at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and in the workshop of master glassblower Bernard Heesen. She defines her work as playing with glass: she lets it drip, stacks it, and sculpts it as if it were light, creating pieces that resemble contemporary gems.

Why we chose these wine glasses

Because they challenge the idea of what a glass should be: here, glass is not just a container, but a small, authorial sculpture that is noticed, held, and always returned to.
