Description

This handmade cotton cushion with fringes is handwoven and features a richly textured surface. The pattern emerges from the weave itself, from the changes in height and the movement of the fringes, providing depth without relying on an intense print. The natural palette allows it to be integrated into sofas, armchairs, benches, and beds of very different styles.

It can be used as a standalone piece or as part of a multi-cushion composition. It pairs especially well with linen, wool, leather, washed velvet, and wood, and helps to relate textiles from different origins. The cotton backing provides structure and the removable filling facilitates daily use. As with Lorena Canals' handmade textiles, each unit may show slight variations in weave, fringes, or tone; these are part of the artisanal process and should not be understood as defects.

We chose it because it introduces materiality and warmth in a restrained way. We like that the visual interest comes from the weave and not from an added motif, and that it can complement both a neutral sofa and a more characterful armchair. It is one of those textiles that completes a composition without dominating it and makes the room feel more welcoming and personal.
