Description
This washable rug made from recycled cotton is constructed from panels cut and sewn by hand. Stonewashing softens the surface and creates visible tonal variations, while the seams and embroidery make the crafting process evident. The lines do not aim for perfect symmetry and provide a relaxed, tactile, and slightly lived-in appearance.
It can define a seating area, accompany a bed, or create a light base in a study. Being more flexible than a pile rug, it is easy to move, fold, or reposition when the layout changes. It pairs well with wood, stone, linen, leather, ceramics, and natural fibers. Variations in tone, asymmetrical seams, and small marks are inherent characteristics of Lorena Canals' handmade manufacturing and should not be considered defects.
Why we chose this rug
We chose it because it celebrates the traces of the process instead of hiding them. We are interested in the relationship between recycled cotton, washing, and visible seams, capable of building a surface with character while maintaining a serene presence. It is a piece designed for a lived-in home, where beauty does not depend on absolute uniformity and where textiles can naturally change place and use.
