This mustard wool rug Vilja by Linie Design features a wheat ear pattern interpreted with contrasting pile heights, with golden-mustard yellow as the main color. The name Vilja means "cereal" in Swedish, and the design makes it literal: a grain field seen from above, translated to the scale of a living room rug.

Because mustard yellow is one of the most difficult colors to work with in textiles—it can be too intense or too dull—and Linie Design has solved it perfectly: the hand-cut pile softens the tone and the herringbone pattern gives it structure and character.
