This hand-knotted ochre wool and linen rug sets out a composition of colour fields and marks that suggests an abstract landscape. Still Horizon leaves open areas around its forms, giving texture and space as much importance as the drawing itself. Hand-carded wool and linen bring variation to an earthy palette and allow the material to remain visible within the composition.

Why we chose this rug

We chose it for the way it gives a seating area an identity without relying on repeated motifs. It works beside a wooden armchair and a low table with simple lines, leaving some of the surface uncovered. Matt finishes and plain fabrics make it easier to appreciate the differences between colour fields and knotted lines.
